BRAL Awarded SAS 70 Type II Accreditation

In February 2006, BRAL Ltd became the first and only advertised accounting and administration service organisation in the UK to have the SAS 70 Type II accreditation.

SAS 70 is a US auditing standard that has been in existence since 1992. It has come to prominence since the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, where US auditors are now increasingly looking to ensure outsourced providers used by US listed businesses are SAS 70 compliant. A SAS 70 Type II examination is an independent investigation carried out to confirm that appropriate procedures and controls are in place in a service organization – such as performance monitoring, data security and change management. This can give you bottom-line benefits by avoiding costs and disruption when the parent company auditors need to check the systems and controls of one of your suppliers.
